First impressions...

Video Card issues...Having trouble with my 8800 GTX, all explosions totally screw up the screen, looks like in both single and multiplayer.  Haven't invested alot of time fixing it yet, but did manage to complete the entire Singleplayer campaign with it doing it.

Single Player....The graphics (when they are working) are amazing...very realistic.  Although I managed to finish the Single Player campaign in less than 2 days on Normal.  (Very Short) It doesn;t have the feel of Call of Duty, but it is decent.  The characters do come off as a bit phoney to me, but they are good for a couple of laughs!

Multiplayer...I;ve only played a couple of matches, definitely a different feel than COD, the vehicles really change things, and I totally SUCK at flying a helicopter...it did seem that you had to hit someone several times before dropping them.  The defend the M-com stations are an interesting twist, once destroying the A and B targets, the defending team falls back to an additional two targets, for a total of 8...its makes it like having 4 rounds built into 1 with no breaks in between.

All in all, not a bad game, I want to try a few more matches, maybe try out ACC's server.  I;ll keep you posted.

The new year has brought many controversies in regards to MW2...Infinity Ward is in an uproar, their head guys have been fired for insubordination by Activision...XBOX gets all DLC first with no mention of us PC guys... www.modernwarfail2.com is listing updated hacks faster than the updates can handle them.  With no Dedicated Servers, playing online has become more of a chore...

Personally I;m getting a little tired of it.  I took a break from MW2 and tried a RPG for the first time ever...Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Wow, what a change! I really enjoyed both, might have to try a few other games along this line!

I did buy a copy of Bad Company 2...haven;t installed yet, but I will, and then give some impressions of it.

I know there is alot of hard feelings going around about the slap to the face of PC gamers...can;t escape that.  Not only have they taken away our dedicated servers and pretty much gave the cold shoulder to the entire modding community, they even took the best ideas of COD Extreme Mod and implemented them in this newest installment.  I still hope they see the light...but considering it has already shattered any release numbers to date...I imagine their sight may not clear up for some time.

The bad thing is...they made a decent game.  Hands down the best single player campaign to date (although a little short, and I don;t like the ending...but I can;t choose movie endings either.)

There is some definite downfalls to the multiplayer aspect.  But, that being said, I tried setting up my first private match with the guys from EDA last night.  Went without a hitch. The amount of challenges, accolades, perks, etc.  is mindboggling! The combinations of weapons is endless...if they would only add Dedi Servers, the game would be complete!

At this time ACC is still boycotting the game. (Although I bought it, I can;t blame them for the boycott...I applaud them for it.  I;m just too addicted to IW's single player.)  EDA, however have embraced it.  Frost, Zach, Dark, Striker, Shytown, etc have all purchased it.  I'm going to make the best of it and see how to work with what they have handed us.  Bare, Anger and I all have it now...I'll make a forum area for MW2 as well as a thread for Steam ID's.  I;ll also add a thread for outside clan Id's...that way we can start building a base of "decent" players to server hop with.

If IW does allow Dedi Servers, I;ll be one of the first to get one online!

I have removed the you-tube video announcing the release of Modern Warfare 2...

It has come to my attention that in these last few weeks before MW2's release, Infinity Ward has announced that it has stripped away dedicated servers on this game....

What does this mean to us? you ask...

No personal Clan servers, no ability to kick,ban or change a majority of settings...no home server for any clan.  It will be going to a "Matchmaking" style where you go to a "lobby" and the IWNet will match you to a server that has the best ping for you, and with players of the same "Skill" level.  I do believe that you will be able to link up a "group" so that clan members can play together, but it will be difficult to play with the people outside of the clan that you usually run into on a home server.

They have also taken away the ability to Mod the game at all.  All new maps and content will come from IW and will now be charged to PC users (I.E Consoles).

The game and servers will now be connected with Steam...and is not using punkbuster, I do know how many complaints there are towards PB, but I have heard that VAC is far worse.

During one of their interviews it has been stated that they are doing this to "Give Priority to the Casual Gamer over the Modder/Tuner" seems a pretty big slap to the face for all of us that have invested several years to the Call of Duty Line.

I really enjoyed learning how to server admin and am thankful that I found the friends I have through or clan.  If this is the way that PC gaming is going, I;m not sure how Clans are going to fit into the grand scheme of things.

ACC has Boycotted the game, and has an online petition that can be signed. I urge you to make you voice heard.

I;m still undecided on wether I will buy the game or not, if this is the way things are going, I'm thinking I at least want to become familiar with it.

November will be soon apon us, time for the release of Modern Warfare 2.  I will contacting all RCR members shortly to wake them from their summer nap.

A few things have changed, the biggest thing probably being the fact that CACTUS HAS A NEW COMPUTER AND WAW!!!!!  We were frustrated with him before...I can;t imagine now...

I will be looking for some help running things, any interested members please speak up! I have a project going on over the winter that will be distracting me somewhat... I'll post the details when I have a chance.

Although World at War wasn;t bad, I'm definitely looking forward to this! I may actually have some time to play when it comes out.
