Fuslieradama 68 posts Clan Member	Been another tough week for me. I know both RCMP officers who died in Haiti this week. I met Sgt Gallager two weeks before he deployed and spoke to him about it. I knew Superintendant Doug Coates very well. He was in charge of my deployment to Afghanistan. He also came over and went on patrol with me a couple of times in Kandahar when he came for a week long visit to audit our mission there. A tragic loss. Posted Jan 17, 10

Last friday I was honoured to be part of the Honour Guard in Trenton Ontario and repatriate Chief Supt Coates and Sgt Gallagher back home to Canada. I got a lift on the RCMP pilatus plane from Halifax to Ontario. There we rehearsed for the ramp ceremony all day with the Canadian Military to guide us. At 1515 hrs, the C-17 Globemaster flew in with the caskets and we performed our duties to honour them and show their families that they don't grieve alone. It was very moving.
